This young Edina family loved their neighborhood and the memories they’d built there, but their home no longer fit the rhythm of daily life. With kids and busy routines, they needed more space, updated finishes, and a layout that worked better for their growing family. They wanted to stay in the place they loved — just with a home that supported their next chapter.

Making space for family life

The remodel focused on transforming the upper level, introducing new space above the garage to create a larger footprint and more intentional flow. The project brought in a spacious primary suite, a generous walk-in closet, and a beautifully refreshed bathroom featuring a large shower and refined finishes. The kids’ bathroom was also reimagined for easier mornings and better functionality.

Early in construction, the project faced an unexpected challenge — a furnace failure on the first day of work, right in the middle of winter. With the homeowners out of town, our team quickly coordinated emergency service, managed repairs, and ensured the home was warm and safe before their return. What could have been a stressful start became a moment of trust and reassurance that defined the rest of the experience.

Along with the interior updates, the home’s exterior received a full refresh. New siding and refined architectural details brought balance and curb appeal, blending seamlessly with the surrounding neighborhood. Inside, soft neutrals, natural textures, and layered lighting give each space a calm, inviting feel. Built-in storage and carefully planned details make everyday routines smoother and family life more comfortable.

 What began as a renovation became something much more meaningful — a home renewed with intention, comfort, and warmth for the years ahead.
